The "Battle Of Armageddon" is within you

The bible states that there will be a "Battle of Armageddon", (Revelation 16:16) which again is commonly misunderstood as being a literal battle with large armies clashing. It is described that, "the blood will be up to the horses bridles", and in other representative ways that are not meant to be taken as exactly literal. I can assure you that the days of any wars that are fought with horses again are probably behind us. The actual battle of Armageddon is the very personal battle we each must face, alone. The key to understanding the secret of Armageddon is to look at exactly where it was supposed to take place, at Mageddo in northern central Israel.

The name for the battle of Armageddon contains the name of the city where it was to take place. Mageddo was the largest Canaanite Fortress city in Israel for thousands of years, archaeologists say that it has been destroyed and rebuilt over 25 times. At about 1600 B.C.E. the Pharaoh Thotmes III described the difficulty of taking the fortress of Mageddo as like "the taking of a thousand cities". Mageddo is located literally at the main crossroads of all of the ancient world, all traffic from Egypt and Africa combined into one huge caravan route and was funneled together into a valley on one road which entered Mageddo from the south.

Mageddo, on the east of the Plain of Esdraelon opposite the Jezreel Valley, commanded the central of the three passes that you see joining together and forming into the big "Y" that you see in the picture. This strategic pass, which offered the best and shortest route from Egypt and all of the south to either northern Syria by going right or to central Europe by going left. It was the main "crossroads of all the known world" as it was known was commonly followed by the Assyrians, Egyptians, Philistines, Greeks, and Romans, and in more modern times it was even Napoleon's passage route. The town of Mageddo was the key to such an important pass and that is the key to understanding the Battle of Armageddon.

In the middle of the town is the exact point that the road splits into the big "Y" that you see in the picture and right at that exact point you had to then make a very big (and usually final) decision, do I go left to my destiny in Europe or do I go right to my destiny in Asia?

For most people who had to decide everything right then, this was it, they would never be able to come back again and change the decision that they made right at that exact point. It was the actual main intersection of all the known world at that time, your entire life and destiny was determined by the choice that you made right there as to which way to go? 

The "Battle of Armageddon" is the same thing, it is a metaphor for the very personal battle that each and every person must make on their own, by themselves, as to their allegiance once and for all. At some point in your lifetime you must decide about seeking and obtaining the Father's Holy Spirit, or do you accept "the world's ways" as your God. It is the crossroads of your own personal destiny. If you are of the world, your bibles are fashion magazines and your rabbis are talk show hosts.

What are you going to do? Do you chose to align yourself with the world and its values or do you chose to align yourself with God the Father Almighty? This is the decision that each person must make and then live with the consequences of that fateful decision for all eternity.

The battle between God and Satan is for your mind, your soul just happens to tag along.

So do you chose the ways of God the Father, or do you chose Satan and the ways of the world?

The Battle of Armageddon is the very personal decision each of us must ultimately make of which way will you go?
